Homeboyz Reach Prinsloo Quarters; Sarries Drop To Challenge Trophy

Nondies reached the cup quarters at the expense of the Impala Saracens,top seeds heading into this tournament. The white shirts won this do or die clash 17-10,joining hosts Top Fry Nakuru in the business end of the tournament.

Despite being out of cup contention,the Menengai Oilers signed off Pool B with a 12-5 over the already qualified SportPesa Quins. This result also confirmed Mwamba’s place in the cup quarters.

Menengai Cream Homeboyz confirmed pole position from Pool C with a 33-7 blitz of second placed Strathmore Leos.

KCB finished top of Pool D with a 29-12 win over Kabras Sugar.

Nakuru completed a perfect day,beating Blak Blad 17-7 to top Pool A,the cup quarterfinal berth already secured. Mwamba boosted their chances of making a cup quarterfinal with a 19-10 victory over Western Bulls.

Deejays stay on course

Defending champions Menengai Cream Homeboyz, Kabras Sugar and KCB won their second pool matches,leaving only two cup quarterfinal slots up for grabs heading into the final round of matches.

Homeboyz were 27-10 winners over Mean Machine,Kabras overcoming MKU Thika 29-12 with KCB registering a 31-0 shut out of the Catholic Monks.

Nakuru,Quins, Strath through to cup quarters

Top Fry Nakuru,SportPesa Quins and the Strathmore Leos are through to the cup quarterfinals after winning their second successive group matches.

Nakuru booked a berth in the cup quarterfinal at their home tournament after registering a second successive Pool A win, beating Nondies 14-10. Impala Saracens bounced back from their opening defeat to Nakuru,the 12-7 result over Blak Blad keeping their cup quarterfinal hopes alive.

Menengai Oilers were held to a 15-15 draw by Western Bulls as Quins topped Mwamba 33-22 in an entertaining encounter,a result that saw them reach the last eight with a game to spare. Strathmore also made it two out of two courtesy of the 33-10 win over Mombasa.

Winning Start For Hosts, Mwamba Signal Intent

Hosts Top Fry Nakuru started the tournament with a 14-10 win over top seeds Resolution Impala Saracens in Pool A action. Geoff Ominde converted Kelvin Kioko’s try for a 7-0 lead before Davis Makori responded with an unconverted try for the Sarries, 7-5 the half time score.

Gramwell Bunyasi’s converted try put the Wanyore 14-5 up before the game chasing Sarries landed a late unconverted, an effort that was a tad late, Nakuru claiming the result.

Mwamba RFC, record winners at this tournament, signaled their intent for main cup honors, recovering from a 0-7 deficit to beat Menengai Oilers 12-7. Steve Sikuta and Kevin Atandi landed the five pointers, Atandi following through with a solitary conversion.

SportPesa Quins pulled off a 17-5 win over Western Bulls while the Strathmore Leos were made to work for the 22-17 result against plucky Mean Machine.
