The national U20 side, Chipu, will face Resolution Impala Saracens in a build up match at the Impala Club on Monday 19 February 2018.
Team Manager Jimmy Katembo, speaking to the Kenya Rugby Union, said,” Monday night’s fixture is part of our preparations for next month’s Rugby Africa U20 South Championships in Windhoek, Namibia. While the team has been training together and has played several in-house matches, the opportunity against Impala’s Kenya Cup side is an excellent one for us to test the lads under pressure, and to also try out our various combinations and tactics.”
Chipu, runners up in 2015 and 2016 will start their campaign in Namibia with a clash against Madagascar at Windhoek’s Hage Geingob Stadium Wednesday 28 March 2018, the winner of this clash taking on the winner of the Namibia- Zimbabwe clash also taking place at the same venue.
The winner of the South category will then duel the winner from the North category which features Senegal, Tunisia, Morocco and Ivory Coast for Africa’s sole berth at the 2018 World Rugby Junior Trophy.
