Provisional Simbas, Shujaa Squads Prepare For Upcoming Assignments

A provisional Simbas squad has embarked on training ahead of November’s Cup of Nations in Hong Kong.  The Simbas, who finished second overall in the 2017 Africa Gold Cup, will face hosts Hong Kong, Russia and Chile in the tournament which runs from 10th to 18th November.

Meanwhile, a provisional 12 man Shujaa squad has also in been in non-residential training in Nairobi under Head Coach Innocent Simiyu ahead of the upcoming pre-season assignments in South Africa (Assupol Sevens) and Safari Sevens as well as a host international assignments which include the 2017/18 HSBC Sevens World Series,the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco, USA and the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.

The twelve players in training are Andrew Amonde (KCB), Oscar Ayodi (Menengai Cream Homeboyz), Brian Tanga (Kabras Sugar), Frank Wanyama ( SportPesa Quins), Derrick Mayar, Sammy Oliech (Resolution Impala Saracens), Nelson Oyoo (Top Fry Nakuru), Billy Odhiambo (Mwamba), Dennis Ombachi (Nondescripts), Bush Mwale ( Menengai Cream Homeboyz) and Collins Injera ( Mwamba).

A full squad selection will be done at the close of the 2017 National Sevens Circuit.
