Shujaa kept their Sydney Sevens cup quarterfinal hopes alive with a hard fought 17-14 win over France in Pool B action at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday morning.  Willy Ambaka put Shujaa ahead with an early try, Sammy Oliech missing the relatively easy conversion before they faded away.

Two converted tries from Jean Pascal Barraque and Paulin Riva saw France take a 14-5 lead into the break.

Shujaa’s response after the restart was immediate, Eden Agero converting Oscar Ouma’s try to make it 14-12. Innocent Simiyu’s charges continued to dominate the exchanges and were finally rewarded with the match winning try from Dan Sikuta.

They will face Wales in a must win encounter at 10.36am EAT.
