Three rounds into the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit and it is Menengai Cream Homeboyz who hold an unassailable lead, sitting on top of the standings with the maximum 66 points heading into round four, the Driftwood Sevens at the Mombasa Sports Club this weekend.
Homeboyz have thus far led from gun to tape, recording three successive cup final victories at the Prinsloo Sevens in Nakuru,the Sepetuka Sevens in Eldoret and last weekend’s Kabeberi Sevens in Machakos.
The deejays have won 17 of 18 matches on the circuit this season. This includes 15 consecutive wins since losing 21-12 to Kenya Harlequin in a Pool B decider in Nakuru on Saturday 21 July. Their winger, Mark Wandetto also tops the try scorers charts,touching down 23 times over the past three rounds.
Stanbic Mwamba, beaten cup finalists at the opening two rounds lie second on the log, fifteen points adrift on 51 points with KCB (49 pts), Top Fry Nakuru (41 pts) and reigning circuit champions Kabras Sugar (35 pts) rounding off the top five.
