The pools and match schedule for the opening round of the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit in Nakuru have been released.
Circuit champions Kabras Sugar headline Pool A of the first round, the Top Fry Prinsloo Sevens taking place at the Nakuru Athletic Club on 21st and 22nd July. They joined by Strathmore Leos,Stanbic Mwamba and Mean Machine.
2016 circuit champions Menengai Cream Homeboyz are top seeds in Pool B which also features Kenya Harlequin, Blak Blad and Kisumu while Pool C sees the Resolution Impala Saracens up against Nakuru based Menengai Oilers, Western Bulls and Regional Logistics Mombasa.
Defending Prinsloo champions KCB are in Pool D where they will mix it up with hosts Top Fry Nakuru,Nondescripts and Nzoia Sugar Webuye.

Division 1 Pools
Pool A: Kabras Sugar, Strathmore Leos, Stanbic Mwamba, Mean Machine

As has been the recent trend, the circuit once again features a second tier competition which also kicks off this weekend and will be played alongside the sidelines of the main event. The opening round in Nakuru will be a 24 team affair as teams seek to secure promotion to the top tier competition at the second round of the circuit in Eldoret on July 28.
Catholic Monks are top seeds in the second tier category in Nakuru and headline Pool A where they are bunched with Northern Suburbs, CITAM Kisumu and newbies Bomet. Makueni are in Pool B with Embu, Nakuru KITI and another set of newbies in Administration Police while Pool C pits Daystar Falcoms against Egerton Wasps, TUK and Molo.
Kisii are in Pool D with Kiambu, KCAA Stormers and Bungoma as Mount Kenya University, MMUST, USIU and Mbale make up Pool E. KCA,Comras,Eldoret and Ngong round off Pool F.

First played in 1999,The Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit is an annual series of rugby sevens tournaments run by the Kenya Rugby Union in conjunction with host clubs featuring teams from across the country. Teams compete for the overall Circuit title by accumulating points based on their finishing position in each tournament. The season’s circuit currently comprises 6 tournaments in 6 cities and towns across Kenya.
