Overall Circuit Champions

The Christie7s runners up, Egerton Wasps are the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit overall champions gathering a total of 82 points in five out of six legs. Egerton’s scorecard in the whole circuit is as below:

Prinsloo7s – Cup runners up gathering a total of 19 points

Sepetuka7s – 4th place finish getting a total of 15 points

Kabeberi7s – 3rd place finish getting a total of 17 points

Driftwood7s – They didn’t participate in this leg

Dala7s – 5th place semifinal finish gathering a total of 12 points

Christie7s – Cup runners up gathering a total of 19 points.

#Christie7s Round Up

Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology won the #Christie7s Division Two title at the RFUEA Grounds on Sunday 16th September. MMUST were first on the scoreboard as they scored a converted try. Egerton Wasps narrowed the gap with an unconverted try for the scoreboard to read 7-5 in favour of the eventual champions. The two sides added a converted try each for the scores to read 14-12 to MMUST at the breather.

Second half saw MMUST dot down two tries with one conversion sailing wide and one being successful. The scores remained 24-12 in favor of MMUST to see them lift the Division Two trophy.

Action between Egerton Wasps and MMUST

The Christie7s hosts, Kenya Harlequins Vandals lifted the 5th place trophy as they saw off MKU Thika 19-12.

The Christie7s Division Two Challenge Trophy champions are Stingers. They landed three tries and one conversion to beat their rivals Catholic Monks 17-12. Monks scored two tries and one successful conversion.

JKUAT finished in the 13th place with their solitary try and conversion over Daystar Falcons for the Full time score to read 7-0.

Citam Kisumu lifted the Division Two Spear as they saw off BATUK 12-10


In the Spear category; Citam Kisumu proved to be the better side in their match against Nakuru KITI as they beat them 24-17 in the first spear semifinal while The British Army Training Unit in Kenya beat Ngong RFC 12-5.

The 13th place semifinals saw Daystar beat Administration Police 19- 7 while JKUAT saw TUK off with a 24-0 win in the second semifinal.  Mbale RFC lost 26-7 to Stingers in the first Challenge Trophy semifinal as the Catholic Monks beat Embu 19-0.

Hosts Vandals handed Blakblad a 31-12 loss in the 5th place semifinal as MKU Thika beat Comras 24-12. The Cup semifinals saw the potential overall circuit winners Egerton Wasps edge rivals Makueni 7-5 in the semis a match which was preceded by a Masinde Muliro 30-0 win over the Nzoia Sugar Webuye RFC.


The #Christie7s Division Two Spear quarterfinals saw Nakuru KITI, Citam Kisumu, BATUK and Ngong RFC proceed to the semifinals as they edged out their opponents Kiambu, KCA, Masaku and Stormers 19-17, 12-5, 35-7 and 21-5 respectively.

The Challenge Trophy saw the Dala7s finalists Mbale RFC edge out AP 15-12, three tries and one conversion from Stingers earned them a semifinal slot as they beat Daystar 17-7 in the second quarterfinal. The Catholic Monks beat JKUAT 12-0 as Embu won their match against TUK 14-5.

Masinde Muliro University shut Blakblad out of the Cup semifinals with a 14-7 win, Webuye beat hosts Vandals 19-10. Makueni secured the third semifinal slot beating MKU Thika 12-5 with Egerton Wasps handed Comras a 19-0 loss to book a date with Makueni in the second cup semifinal.
