The Kenya Lionesses retained the Women’s Elgon Cup with a 87-3 blow out of Uganda’s Lady Rugby Cranes at the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium in Kisumu City on Saturday 11 November 2023.
Leading 45-0 at the break, the Lionesses landed 13 tries through Stella Wafula and Christabel Lindo who scored 3 each while Sharon Auma, Diana Omosso, Faith Livoi, Naomi Amuguni and Naomi Jelagat all scored a try each with Anne Goretti adding one try, a drop goal and seven conversions.
Uganda’s only points came from the boot of Tina Okello who drilled home a penalty.
