KRU Hosts Successful T&E  Super Weekend

The weekend of 17th/18th June saw the Kenya Rugby Union host a training and education super weekend in Nairobi.

Denver Wannies, the Rugby Africa Regional Training Co-ordinator was in the country to oversee the weekend’s activities which included the assessment of World rugby certified educators trainers Johnbosco Muamba and Fred Ollows.

The super weekend also saw courses conducted in First Aid in Rugby (FAIR), Strength and Conditioning, Level 1 Sevens Coaching and Fifteens  Officiating courses respectively.

It was further revealed that Lamech Bogonko (Medical) and Richard Ochieng (  Strength &Conditioning) would be accredited as World Rugby certified educators upon completion of their assessment at a later date.

Wannies, in his comments upon completion of the weekend’s activities, said, “ It was a very successful weekend. We had the biggest number of participants and educators in over four years. This positivity should be taken to other parts of the country as we continue to give support to the participants and programs.”
