Seventeen qualify for Level 1 coaching certification

The Kenya Rugby Union held a World Rugby Level 1 coaching course in fifteens rugby on the 1st and 2nd of December in Nairobi.

The course, facilitated by George Ndemi and Ronnald Okoth, was attended by a total of 17 participants ranging between 23 and 37 years of age who qualified for Level 1 coaching certification upon successful completion of the course modules.

Ndemi, speaking after the course, said, ” The aim of the course was to target players and aspiring coaches within our clubs and impart knowledge on the coaching strand. ”

“This course is also advantageous for those players who attended the two day session as it  will give the opportunity to easily grasp and understand what their coaches are trying to communicate and achieve from them. The knowledge gained from this course is also of benefit to aspiring coaches as it enables them introduce players to rugby with little difficulty as well as mould these players through basic skills development.”
