Kabras Sugar’s lead atop the SportPesa National 7s Circuit is down to two points after KCB’s cup final success at the Christie 7s.
The team from Kakamega had been to three cup finals, losing out at the season opening Dala 7s in Kisumu before claiming back to back titles in Mombasa and Nakuru to top the log on 63 points. Their perfect streak came to a halt when they exited the Christie 7s at the cup semifinal loss following a 7-5 loss to the Strathmore Leos, eventually claiming third place and 17 points with a 19-12 playoff win over Nakuru.
They are on 80 points with KCB, cup winners at the Christie 7s second on 78 points.
The Strathmore Leos, losing cup finalists this past weekend, are third on 63 points with reigning circuit champions Menengai Oilers fourth on 56 points.
Mwamba close out the top five on 52 points, after their fourth successive fifth place this season.
