The Kenya Lionesses concluded their tour of South Africa with a 22-17 defeat to the San Clemente Rhinos in at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday 23 September 2023.
The Lionesses went ahead through Rose Otieno’s try three minutes into the match, Diana Omosso converting for a 7-0 score.
Grace Okulu’s penalty twelve minutes later took the score to 10-0 before the Rhinos fought back, Lisa Egberts touching down as the half ended 10-5 in the Lionesses favor.
Mercy Migongo barged over eleven minutes into the second half, Omosso drilling home the conversion for a 17-5 lead before the Rhinos responded first through Salome Lewis who pounced on the loose ball to make it 17-10.
Sophia Lavier then stole the ball from the line out to score under the posts, Christian Britan converting to tie the scores before Lewis scored at the death, her brace winning the game for the Rhinos
