Nondescripts are the Tisap 7s champions after a 12-7 win over Strathmore Leos in sudden death extra time at the Eldoret Sports Club on Sunday evening.
The club that is celebrating its centenary year went ahead through a try from Moses Begi, Daniel Okito adding the conversion for a 7-0 lead.
Strathmore’s response was prompt, Andrew Matoka touching down with Stephen Osumba converting to tie the score at the close of the first half.
The second half would remain deadlocked, sending the match into extra time.
Strathmore spurned a try scoring opportunity, Collins Maina losing the ball on the Nondies try line.
Nondies then scored from the ensuing counter attack, Charles Odhiambo reacted quickest to the indecision from the Strath backs, pouncing on the loose ball to touch down and seal the deal for Nondies who were playing in their first cup final on the circuit since 2002.
Nondies would stun Menengai Oilers 10-7 in their semifinal fixture as Strathmore edged Mwamba 8-5.
Circuit leaders Kabras Sugar and KCB were eliminated from cup contention at the Tisap 7s.
KCB, top seeds heading into Eldoret were on the receiving end of a 10-5 loss to Menengai Oilers while Kabras Sugar were defeated 19-5 by Mwamba in their quarterfinal.
Strathmore Leos advanced to the cup semis with a 26-0 win over Blak Blad as Nondescripts edged Kisumu 10-7 to reach the last four.
