An eight try win over Namibia all but secured Shujaa’s passage to the cup quarterfinal at the ongoing Rugby Africa 7s at the Harare Sports Club in Harare, Zimbabwe.
Patrick Odongo scored the first of his two tries, beating his man for pace to touch down with Tony Omondi converting for a 7-0 lead.
It was soon 17-0 when Vincent Onyala and Kevin Wekesa scored unconverted tries before Omondi converted Onyala’s brace to see Shujaa lead Namibia 24-0 at the interval.
John Okoth extended the lead with a try after the interval, Omondi converting for a 31-0 lead before Kevin Wekesa picked the ball from the loose with Shujaa on the backfoot, shook off his man and raced 80 meters before setting up Odongo for his brace, Omondi converting for a 38-0 score.
Okoth soon landed his brace, Omondi again sure with the conversion with the score at 45-0 before George Ooro killed off the game as Shujaa claimed the 50-0 win.
They play Zambia at 4.34pm EAT.
