Shujaa will face hosts Zimbabwe in the Rugby Africa 7s cup semifinals after defeating Burkina Faso 26-0 in quarterfinal action at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday morning.
Burkina Faso, under the tutelage of South African Bronsor Weir, took the game to Shujaa early on, competing at the breakdown but were undone by ill discipline that saw them reduced to 6 men, Shujaa seizing the opportunity to get into the game and on the scoreboard through Patrick Odongo’s unconverted try for a 5-0 lead.
John Okoth then barged over the tryline with Tony Omondi converting for a 12-0 lead at the interval.
Omondi then stroked home two conversions from second half tries by Okoth and Beldad Ogeta to seal the victory for Shujaa.
Zimbabwe overcame Madagascar 26-10 to set up the semifinal date at 1.50pm EAT.
