It was third time lucky for the University of Eldoret Trojans in a division two cup final as they defeated the Zetech Oaks 17-10 to win the Christie 7s division two competition this past weekend.
This result saw the Trojans secure a place in the first division competition in their home town of Eldoret when the penultimate round of the SportPesa National 7s Circuit, the Tisap 7s, takes place on 2/3 September at the Eldoret Sports Club.
They had previously lost cup finals in Kisumu and Mombasa.
The Trojans incidentally lead the second division standings with 77 points. Zetech Oaks are second on 54 points as Stallions (50 pts), Administration Police Warriors (47pts) and Makueni (44 pts) close out the top five.
