The Young Lionesses finished fourth in the women’s rugby sevens competition at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

They went down 22-10 to Fiji in the bronze medal match on Tuesday evening. They had earlier finished fourth at the close of the round robin competition.

The Young Lionesses began with a 38-5 loss to Fiji before bouncing back to beat Wales 20-12.

They would follow this up with a 48-0 victory over hosts Trinidad and Tobago before losing their final two round robin fixtures to Australia (45-0) and Canada (17-0).
