Coach Kevin Wambua Names Squad for Hong Kong Championship

Kenya Sevens Head Coach Kevin Wambua has today named the squad that will represent the country at the upcoming Hong Kong Championship, marking a crucial step in Shujaa’s journey back to the HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The squad features largely the same core that featured in the last 2 legs in Montevideo and Sao Paulo, with only one change made. Brian Tanga comes in to replace Ojwang, as the technical bench maintains confidence in the team’s structure and consistency.

Speaking after the announcement, Head Coach Kevin Wambua, popularly known as “Bling,” expressed strong belief in the squad’s ability to deliver on the big stage.

“This is just the first step in our journey back to the World Series. We have confidence in this group of players who have shown resilience, growth, and determination. Hong Kong presents another opportunity for us to build on our performances and move closer to our goal, it is part of our journey to go back to the main series” said Kevin Wambua – Shujaa head coach.
