Nairobi, Kenya – The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) has officially launched a dedicated Women’s Rugby Committee, marking steps toward elevating the sport’s profile and strengthening the National team the Kenya Lionesses and women’s rugby in Kenya. The announcement coincides with the Kenya Lionesses’ preparations for the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup, with over 50 players participating in an 11-day training camp.

The committee brings together a powerhouse of professionals from corporate governance, coaching, communications, and sport development sectors to focus on growth, visibility, and welfare in women’s rugby.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Kenya Lionesses are set to compete in the 2025 Rugby Africa Women’s Cup in Madagascar this June, with key fixtures scheduled against Madagascar, South Africa, and Uganda.
