The 2025 Prescott Cup is set to come to an end  with high stakes action following a slight adjustment in the order of play. In a move aimed at prioritizing player welfare, the games proceed  directly to the semi-final stage, ensuring teams enjoy adequate rest between matches.

Under the revised format, the top-seeded schools from each region will battle it out in the semi-finals. Rift Valley Academy will open proceedings  against Kisii School, while WAA High School will square off with St. Patrick’s Iten in the second semi-final.

In a parallel contest for the  Father Caffrey Memorial Trophy, the second-placed teams will also enter the semi-final stage. Lenana School is set to take on Kabianga, with Alliance High School facing Butula Boys in the other fixture.

The girls’ category will also be in the spotlight with equally thrilling semi-final matchups lined up. Kinale Girls will take on Mawego Girls, while St. Teresa’s Girls will clash with Paul Harris in a bid to book a place in Saturday’s finals.

This change in schedule was implemented after thoughtful consideration  emphasizing the importance of giving players a minimum 24-hour recovery window after each match. In addition to the on-field action, all participating teams will benefit from special training sessions on Friday, 27th June. These will be conducted by high performance coaches from the national  teams, offering invaluable technical guidance and elite level exposure to the budding athletes. The grand finale for the Prescott Cup, the Father Caffrey Memorial Trophy, and the girls’ competition will be held on Saturday, 28th June.
