Earlier this month, World Rugby announced the disciplinary appointments for the November tests. Kenya’s Absaloms Juma has been appointed as the Citing Commissioner for the Italy vs New Zealand test on the 24th of November in Rome, Italy.

“Selections have been made following a comprehensive review of performance during the June window and other major competitions by the independent judicial panel chairman Christopher Quinlan QCand are underpinned by training and workshops involving disciplinary personnel and match officials.” World Rugby

Absaloms has been a Citing Commissioner for the last nine years and has served in several tests, World Cups and Rugby Africa Tournaments. His first duty was the 2009 JWRT held in Nairobi. He was part of a 3-man Citing Commissioners team that covered Rugby World Cup 7s in Moscow back in 2013 together with the women’s tournament. He was also appointed in the panel of Citing Commissioners for the Rugby World Cup in London in 2015.

Absaloms Juma has been part of the Citing Commissioner Complement for four Junior World Championships; Japan 2009, Argentina 2010, Italy 2011 and South Africa 2012. He has also been the Citing Commissioner in some of the International Tests in 2014 and 2016 as well as the HSBC World Sevens Series (Dubai and Port Elizabeth in 2014 and Dubai and Cape Town 2015)

He has been and still is part of the Rugby Africa Citing Commissioners Panel since its formation in 2014.
