The SportPesa National Sevens Circuit is back, and all roads lead to Mombasa as the 2025 season kicks off with the Driftwood 7s. Known for its electrifying atmosphere and coastal flair, the Driftwood 7s marks the first leg of this year’s circuit, setting the stage for a season of thrilling rugby sevens action across the country.
In Division One, defending champions Kenya Harlequins headline Pool A, where they will battle MMUST, KU Blak Blad, and Mwamba RFC in their quest to retain the title.Pool B sees powerhouse Kabras Sugar RFC grouped alongside Catholic Monks, Nakuru RFC, and Impala RFC, while last year’s runners-up KCB RFC anchor Pool C, facing Nondescripts RFC, Daystar Falcons, and hosts MSC Rugby.Pool D brings together Nakuru-based Menengai Oilers, Strathmore Leos, Stallions Rugby, and Kabarak University, promising a fierce contest for the knockout spots.
Division Two Pools and Criteria
In Division Two, 36 teams applied for slots, but the final pool allocation followed specific criteria:

6 slots were reserved for Kenya Rugby Union affiliate clubs.

7 slots were allocated to coastal region-based teams.

4 slots were awarded on a performance basis.

3 slots went to clubs based on rankings from previous tournaments.
