On Day One of the Prinsloo 7s tournament, Catholic Monks and Mwamba RFC secured their slots in the cup for the first time this 2025 Sportpesa 7s Circuit. Catholic Monks kicked off the tournament with a narrow 10-17 in their opening Pool C match, and they held Nondies close to finish up the match on a 22-22 draw. They finished the day-one action with a 22-10 victory over Kisumu RFC.

Nondies, on the other hand, suffered the same fate as Catholic Monks by gathering one win, one draw and, one loss, however, the point difference is what worked in Monks giving them the upper hand. KCB topped the pool by securing three out of three wins while Kisumu finished fourth with zero wins.

In Pool D, Mwamba RFC kicked off the tournament with a narrow 14-12 victory over MMUST before surprising the fans with a 17-15 win over Kabras. Their last Pool match saw them suffer their only loss of the day to Impala, going down 14-10. Kabras RFC secured two victories and one loss while MMUST finished fourth in the Pool with two losses and one draw.

In Pool A and B, the usual suspects are through to the Cup quarterfinals; hosts Nakuru RFC and Kenya Harlequins progressed  while Mombasa RFC and Stallions dropped to the Challenge Trophy. In Pool B, Menengai Oilers and Strathmore Leos qualified for the Cup quarterfinals while Daystar Falcons and Zetech Oaks dropped to the Challenge Trophy.
