The second round of the HSBC SVNS 2 competition kicked off with a thriller as Argentina rallied from behind to beat Spain 19-17. Spain brought their exciting brand of rugby to play as they quickly put 12 points on the board to lead 12-7 at half time.
Argentina then came in the second half with renewed energy to score 12 points to Spain’s solitary unconverted try.
The second game saw Brazil upset South Africa 12-0 while the last game of the round for the women’s competition saw China beat hosts Kenya 15-12.
The men’s competition saw three teams get their second wins of the day. USA kicked off the round with a 17-14 win over Uruguay. In what has been the theme of the day, USA Eagles had to fight back in the second half after trailing Uruguay 7-5 at half time.
In the second game, Germany clawed their way back from 17-5 score at half time to win 26 – 17.
In the last game of the round, Belgium suffered their second heavy defeat in the hands of hosts Kenya. A 26-0 lead to Kenya at half time ensured that the hosts had a healthy lead going into the second half.
Belgium tried to mount a fight back in the second half but a last minute try by Floyd Wabwire converted by debutant David Nyangige killed the ir momentum.
