The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) held two Match Officiating Courses for their teachers and coaches on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th of March 2019. These were Level 1 (Introduction to Officiating) and Level 2 (Match Officiating). The courses were held at Peponi House Preparatory School in Nairobi and conducted by World Rugby accredited Educators of Match Officials Peris Mukoko and Constant Cap.  33 people took part in the courses: 26 for Level 1 and seven for Level 2.

The participants were keen on deepening their understanding of the laws of the game and take up officiating during the IAPS league matches that sees U9, U11, U13 & U15 players take part in several competitive matches.

Level 1 accreditation is achieved by sitting through an entire day with online prerequisite courses as per the World Rugby Training requirements. Level 2 course is a two-day course with similar online prerequisites and mandatory attendance to cover four modules. Level 2 participants are also introduced to the transcript that guides their on-field assessment and leads to Level 2 accreditation.
