Kabras Storm Into Enterprise Cup Final After Defeating Oilers
Kabras Sugar Rugby Club, have secured their place in the Enterprise Cup final following a hard-fought 29-18 victory over Menengai Oilers in the semifinal clash.
It was the Oilers who drew first blood, capitalizing on a Kabras infringement to take an early lead. However, Kabras responded swiftly, with Edward Mwaura crossing over for a well-worked try, which was successfully converted by Kubu to hand the Sugarmen the advantage.
Kabras continued to assert their dominance, with George Maruti adding a second try to extend the lead. The Oilers fought back with a converted try of their own, narrowing the deficit and keeping the contest within reach.
Just before the break, Kabras struck again with a converted try, giving them a commanding 21-10 lead heading into halftime.
The second half began with Kabras maintaining their momentum, registering an early unconverted try to stretch their lead further. Oilers responded with a penalty, bringing the scores to 26-13, but Kubu was once again on target, calmly slotting a penalty to push Kabras ahead 29-13.
Despite a late surge from the Oilers, which saw them cross the whitewash for a final try, it was not enough to overturn Kabras’ lead.
At the final whistle, Kabras Sugar emerged victorious with a 29-18 win, sealing their spot in the Enterprise Cup final.
