On Sunday 14th September,KCB were crowned the overall Sportpesa National Sevens Circuit champions after winning their fourth leg of the circuit. This win was however, determined after the Cup quarterfinal where they beat rivals Strathmore to secure the overall title.

They went ahead to beat Daystar in the Cup semifinal before securing the Dala 7s title after seeing off Kabras 12-05 in the final. KCB has had a stellar performance throughout the Circuit, they have made it to each of the six finals, losing two and winning four. They have lost only two of the 36 matches they have played throughout the six tournaments.

Coming close to them was Strathmore Leos who have given them a run for their money throughout the Circuit, whether in the knock out stages or in the final. The two losses KCB suffered were in the hands of Strathmore during the Prinsloo7s final and Embu 7s final.

The Dala 7s final kicked off under the rain with KCB landing the first try as Samuel Asati went over the whitewash and Stephen Osumba adding the extras to give KCB an early 7 – 0 lead. A few moments later, Kabras’ Rayvon Ambale narrowed the gap as he scored an unconverted try to bring the scores to 5-7 at the break.

In the second half, KCB displayed their passing skills as they slowly gained ground into their opponents’ half and then to their 5M mark. Eventually, this led up to Olukusi sending the ball to his winger who landed a corner post try that extended their lead to 5-12. All the Day one scores are available here and Day Two here.
