The Dala 7s day one has lived up to the expectations, as fans were entertained to great rugby action that led up to the quarter-final rugby fans were hoping for. Log leaders KCB will lock heads with second-placed Strathmore Leos on Sunday in the last Cup quarterfinal at 11:20am.

KCB finished top of Pool C following their three out of three wins over Homeboyz RFC, Embu RFC and Mwamba while Strath won two matches against Impala and Kisumu. As fate would have it, the Leos were unable to defend the Oilers’ defense and lost 7-24, a performance that saw them finish second in Pool D while Menengai Oilers finished top of that Pool. After having a shaky start to the Sportpesa National Sevens Circuit, Mwamba are on an upward trajectory as they made it to their second Cup quarterfinal appearance.

In Pool A, Kabras topped their Pool with a total of nine points to secure their Cup semifinal and they are joined by Nakuru RFC who have bounced back to the top 8 positions in the tournament. Pool B, Kabeberi 7s finalists Daystar Falcons continued with their impressive form to secure a top of the table finish as they saw off Kenya Harlequin FC, Nondies and wrapped up their day with a win over Mombasa Sports Club.

The highly awaited fixture for day two as-mentioned-earlier will be the KCB versus Strathmore, a match that determines whether KCB will claim the overall title(should they beat Strathmore in this match), if not, then Strathmore Leos hopes of clinching the overall title will be kept alive.
