The 2025/2026 Kenya Rugby Union mid-season transfer window has witnessed significant player movement across the league, with several top clubs strengthening their squads before the window closed on December 31st, having opened on December 17th. KCB Rugby were among the busiest, securing the services of former Kenya Harlequins captain Sheldon Kahi and  Richel Wangila in major boosts to their roster. The bankers also added Richard Liva, who makes the switch following a short stint at Impala RFC, underlining KCB’s intent to mount a strong second-half push of theXV`s season.

Nondescripts RFC were equally active, making notable acquisitions ahead of the business end of the season. Long-time Strathmore Leos skipper Barnabas Owuor has joined the Red Lions, bringing leadership and experience to the Ngong Road outfit. He is joined by former Shujaa star Lamec Ambetsa, who moves from Kabras Sugar RFC, while  former Chipu captain John Baraka arrives from Kisumu RFC, all on loan.In addition, Frank Aduda, Charlton Mokua and Bill Abuom have all fully shifted to Nondescripts, completing their moves just a short distance from their former club, Kenya Harlequin.

Elsewhere, several big-name transfers also highlighted the window’s intensity. Andrew Matoka has moved back to Strathmore Leos after his stay at Impala RFC, while Mwamba RFC strengthened their squad by acquiring Gideon Makumi and Abel Matanda. Dan Angwech has completed a move to Kisumu RFC from Kabras Sugar, and long-time South Coast Pirates player Brighton Omondi has relocated to the capital to join Kenya Harlequin.

Even as transfer activity now comes to an end, a seven-day period starting today(2/01/2026)  to (7/01/2026) will commence to allow for any ratifications and amendments, after which the player register will be officially updated and finalised.
