The Kenya Rugby Union mourns the demise of former chairman Gordon Bell,a loyal and trusted servant of game who passed away aged 84.

An alumnus of the Prince of Wales School (now known as Nairobi School), Gordon played for Old Cambrians ( now known as Impala Club) from 1956 and was part of the first Impala side to win the Enterprise Cup in 1961 and again in 1965.

He was internationally capped for Kenya in 1963 and also played representative rugby for the Scorpions and Kenya Central Province.

Gordon stayed involved the game after his playing days, serving as the RFUEA Chairman of Selectors.

He later served the RFUEA as Honorary Secretary in 1973 and Chairman of this organization and the Kenya Rugby Football Union in 1975.

He would later be involved in the formative years of the Safari Sevens in 1996, highlighting his immense contributions to the game all through.

A rugby man through and through, Gordon has left us a rich legacy and examples on service to the game.

May his soul rest in eternal peace
