On Saturday, 19th July 2025, the Kenya Simbas wrapped up their Rugby Africa Cup campaign in the fourth position after losing 5-15 to Algeria at the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole, Uganda.

This Bronze playoff match kicked off at noon and it was Algeria who drew first blood in the opening 5 minutes of the match with the conversion drifting wide. The Kenya Simbas responded seven minutes later as Teddy Akala went over the whitewash off a maul, conversion attempt by Brian Wahinya was unsuccessful leveling the scores to 5-5.

Algeria would later take the lead with a converted center post try bringing the scores at halftime to 12-5 in their favour. In the second half, both sides matched up in their attack and defense but with six minutes left on the clock, Algeria snuck in a drop goal to extend their lead to 15-5. They held on to this lead to secure the third-place finish while Simbas finished fourth.

On their way to the Bronze playoff match, the Kenya Simbas faced Uganda in the RAC 2025 Quarterfinal beating them 32-24 and they won securing a semifinal slot with Zimbabwe. In the semifinal, the Simbas fell 23-29, a performance that saw them drop to the Bronze playoff.
