On Saturday 24th May 2025, the Kenya Simbas will host the UAE Rugby team in a build-up match as the Simbas prepare to head out to South Africa for a month. The Jerome Paarwater charges are currently in camp preparing for their biggest task at hand this year, the Rugby Africa Cup which doubles up as the 2027 Rugby World Cup Qualifier.  This match will also play a key role in assisting UAE Rugby team to prepare for the Asian Cup later this year.

Speaking on the Simbas plan in South Africa, this is what The Head of the Fifteens Program, Jerome Paarwater had to say regarding the current camp in Kakamega where he called up a team of 50 players, “The selected 33 from this camp will regroup on 26th May for a short pre-departure camp before departing on 28th May for a high-performance tour in South Africa. This South African leg will be split into two key phases. The first phase runs from 28th May to 22nd June in Cape Town, in partnership with Western Province. During this time, the Simbas will engage in Saturday fixtures against Currie Cup sides and midweek contact sessions with local club and university teams.

The second phase will see the team move to Nylstroom from 22nd to 27th June, where they will collaborate with the Blue Bulls. This camp will include matches on Tuesday and Thursday against the Bulls’ Currie Cup squads.” he concluded.

The match against UAE Rugby will be held at the RFUEA Grounds and will kick off at 3:00pm EAT, the ticket prices are 500/- regular and 1,000/- VIP available at www.tikohub.com
