The Kenya Rugby Union recently facilitated a session with its affiliates on compliance with the Sports Act  of 2013.

The session, which came to a close on 18 March, saw the affiliates taken through the finer details of the Sports Act, most notably

  1. The process and requirements of registering sports organizations
  2. The components of a sports organization’s constitution
  3. The conditions to be met in order to attain full compliance with the Sports Act

They were also briefed about other laws affecting sports organizations, namely, The Anti –Doping Act, 2016, which provides for anti-doping regulation and establishes the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK) as well as the Public Finance Management (Sports, Arts and Social Development Fund) Regulations which establish the Sports Fund and guide on how to access funding from the fund.
