The Kenya Rugby Union hosted a Training and Education “Super Week” from 24th to 28th June in Nairobi.
The “Super Week” took place on the sidelines of the just concluded Rugby Africa competitions hosted in the country and covered the Strength and Conditioning, Coaching, Officiating and Medical strands of the game.
Commenting on the Super Week, KRU Training and Education Co-ordinator George Ndemi said, “ It was a comprehensive exercise under the supervision of Rugby Africa’s Regional Training Manager Denver Wannies and facilitated by a panel that included Dr. Joseph Kalanzi (Uganda), Abigail Mnikwa (Zimbabwe), Denver WAnnies, Dr. Michael Otieno, John Bosco Muamba and Fred Ollows. “
“We saw the accreditation of educators in the Strength and Conditioning, Coaching and Medical strands,” added Ndemi.
The educators started with five virtual sessions from 7th May to 17th June 2021 before attending the face to face course between 24th and 25th June.

There was also a Level 2 Strength and Conditioning course conducted by Ndemi and Richard Ochieng which attracted a total of nine participants ( eight men and one woman) while Kenya U20 Head Coach Curtis Olago who is pursuing his World Rugby Level 3 coaching accreditation underwent assessment under the watchful eye of Wannies.
