The Kenya Rugby Union has taken up the allocation for match officials in all its leagues. This follows a resolution from the KRU Board meeting of Thursday 11 January 2018.

KRU Regulation 11.1.1 states, “ KRU reserves the right to directly (or through the Referees Society as KRU may in its absolute discretion decide) appoint Referees and/or Assistant Referees to any match played in Kenya.”

Additionally, World Rugby Law 6.A.1 states, “ The referee is appointed by the match organizer. If no  referee has been appointed, the two teams may agree upon a referee. If they cannot agree, the home team appoints a referee.”

The KRU will consequently be reaching out to accredited referees in the country for the management of matches in its fixtures.
