In the Regionals games held at Thika High, Mangu clinched the championship title at the recently concluded regional finals, defeating perennial rivals Alliance High. The match showcased intense competition, with Mangu ultimately triumphing by a narrow three-point margin.

The first half saw Mangu seizing an early lead with a try, though their conversion attempt went wide. Alliance capitalized on Mangu’s mistakes, earning three successful penalties to edge ahead at halftime. The second half was a fierce battle, with both teams vying for points. However, Mangu managed to breach Alliance’s defense, securing another try with a successful conversion, securing their victory.

With this win, Mangu has secured a slot in the Nationals, slated to be held in Machakos County. The regional games witnessed other notable matchups, including Alliance’s victories over Njabini and Kiarithaini, and Mangu’s dominant win over Kerugoya and Njumbi.

Speaking after the match, Mangu’s coach, Mr. Dennis Munene, commended his team’s relentless effort until the final whistle against Alliance. He emphasized their commitment to rigorous training in preparation for the Nationals, with the goal of reaching at least the semifinals and ultimately aiming for the finals. Munene stressed the importance of taking each game one step at a time, ensuring that they give their best in every match.
