The Kenya Morans had a good start to their first day at the Africa 7s on Saturday 21st June 2025 in Mauritius as they finished top of Pool A. Their first day kicked off with a 38-00 convincing score against Cote D’Ivoire with Floyd Wabwire going over the whitewash thrice.

Wabwire landed the first two tries of the game with Jackson Siketa converting one of the two. Just before half time, Denis Abukuse rounded his defenders to land Morans third try and to seal it off by converting his own try bringing the half time score to 19-00.

Second half, Matoka Matoka extended Morans lead with a converted try by Siketa. Floyd Wabwire landed his third try at the corner, however, the conversion by Philip Okeyo was unsuccessful. Nakuru’s Felix Okoth landed the final try in the match bringing the total with the conversion slicing the uprights to bring the total tally to 38-00 in favour of Moran.

The second half the Louis led charges completed a 33-00 victory over Ghana before fighting tooth and nail to secure a narrow 12-5 score over Uganda.

Earlier in the day, Coach Louis stated that the team has met their set targets in the first two games. “Our target is to always focus on one game at a time as well as land three tries in the first half.”

Tomorrow, they will meet Nigeria in the fourth Cup quarterfinal which kicks off at 9:06am EAT.
