Top fry Nakuru ladies team made history by becoming the first women team outside of Nairobi to win the women 10 a side festival championship since its inception in 2015. They beat the Impala ladies 12-10 in a thrilling final at the Nakuru Athletics Club on Sunday 31st March.

They emulated their men team counter parts who also made history a few years ago by becoming the first team outside of nairobi to win the Kenya cup. The Wanyore as they are popularly know defied all odds outwitting standard chattered impala Saracen ladies team in all their encounters this year and was the most defensive team of the tournament losing only two games out of the twenty games played.

”For now we will just enjoy the win as we let it sink in, I am very proud of the ladies, the team work and persistence brought us this far,” said an emotional Felix Oloo Head coach Top fry Nakuru Ladies. ”I believe that our age grade system has enabled us achieve what we have today. All these girls started playing together since they were in the U12 set up with about four girls joining in later.  We’re very lucky because all our players come from Nakuru thus the chemistry and cohesion that we have had all through.” concluded Oloo.
