Saturday 20th October welcomes the 37th edition of the Impala Floodlit tournament semifinals at the Impala Club from 9:30am.

The Women’s category will kick off the semifinal tournament at 9:30am with Black Lions, (a franchise of Mwamba Ladies and the Northern Suburbs) taking on Ngong Fry which comprises of Standard Chartered Impala Ladies and Top Fry Nakuru RFC. The Black Lions won the first round beating Ngong Fry 32-24.

Schools Category

The two matches will run concurrently at the RFUEA Grounds and Impala Grounds. RFUEA Grounds will host Muhuri Muchiri vs Ofafa Jericho at 11:30am. Muhuri Muchiri earned themselves a bye during the quarters while Ofafa Jericho were awarded a walk over after Lenana failed to honour the fixture. The second semifinal match will see Alliance and Mang’u face off at 11:50am at the Impala Grounds, for a chance in the finals on the 27th.

Varsities

The Catholic Monks booked themselves a date with Mean Machine last weekend as the Monks humbled Technical University of Mombasa to a 0-71 loss at the RFUEA Grounds. Mean Machine did not hold back any chance they got to score as they beat Strathmore Leos 65-5 in the only Varsities QF match played at the Impala Grounds. The second semifinal pairing sees hosts Swaras play USIU at the Impala Grounds. Swaras beat Kenyatta University’s Blakblad 38-13 while USIU edged Daystar out with a 15-13 win at the RFUEA Grounds.

The Varsities semifinals will kick off at 12:50pm. The CUEA vs Machine match will take place at the RFUEA Grounds while the latter kicks off at the Impala Grounds at the same time.

Clubs’ Plate

The losers in the club quarterfinals will battle it out in the Plate Category. Top Fry Nakur RFC lost to Menengai Cream Homeboyz RFC 30-37. They will play Kenya Harlequins at 4:10pm. Quins were knocked out of the cup contention by their arch rivals and hosts Impala Saracens.

Stanbic Mwamba who lost 25-10 to the defending Champions KCB will kick off the Clubs’ semifinals against Nondies at 2:30pm. Nondies who were trailing 6-22 to Strathmore Leos had put up what was close to a successful comeback but they did not bring it to fruition as they lost 23-25.

Clubs’ Cup

The four semifinalists will duel for a slot in the final come 27th October from 5:50pm as hosts Resolution Impala Saracens take on the Strathmore Leos while 7:30pm will welcome KCB and Homeboyz.
