The Kenya Rugby Union,  through its Coast Regional Development Officer, Leon Lubang’a, organized a rugby and entrepreneurship boot camp hosted at Mombasa Sports Club this past weekend.

The boot camp involved 60 under 18 boys and girls and their coaches from different teams around the region. The training was conducted by former Kenya Sevens Head Coach  Paul Murunga and KRU Training and Education Co-ordinator Malik Ndemi who focused on training rugby key factors and functional roles while former Kenya international lock Lewis Olaka trained the players on entrepreneurship skills.

After the training the attendees were grouped into teams where they participated in competitive matches. Junior Achievement Kenya donated certificates which were handed out to all the players after the training.

The Coast region is on the right path towards rugby development with More boys and girls at age grade level are now playing rugby creating a feeder system for the clubs.
