Kenya Rugby Union Training and Education Department led by George Ndemi will be conducting Level One Officiating and Coaching courses at Kianyaga Boys Secondary School, in Kirinyaga county,

In the Officiating Course, he shall be accompanied by Officiating Educator Dennis Wachira and the Kenya Rugby Referees Association’s Hon. Secretary Alfred Okwemba. Okwemba will be assessed by Fred Ollows for his Educator Accreditation as he delivers the Level 1 Officiating course which will run on Saturday 25th September. The Coaching course will be held on Sunday 26th September at the same venue conducted by Educators Alex Agalo and George Ndemi. So far a total of 28 members have already registered for the courses in Kirinyaga.

The Central Region, Region Development Officer Patrick Mwika is very happy to host the two courses, “We look forward to a positive weekend in Central region and are honored to have these training courses which will empower our coaches and referees with adequate knowledge,” he said.

This is the second time the T&E department is holding these courses in Kirinyaga with the first one being held in 2018. “We have a lot of schools in this region and one of the ways of growing the game in a safe manner is ensuring we have well-trained coaches and match officials who will take charge,” added George Ndemi, KRU’s Training and Education Coordinator.
