The Kenya men’s national 7s team, Shujaa, collected a solitary point at the sixth round of the 2021/22 World Rugby Sevens Series in Vancouver after a 15th place finish.

Having failed to make the cup quarterfinals at the close of pool play, Shujaa would fall to a 21-14 loss to Ireland in the ninth place semifinal playoff.

Anthony Omondi converted Billy Odhiambo and Nelson Oyoo’s tries.

They would then fall to a 24-7 loss to Spain, Kevin Wekesa going over the whitewash with Richel Wangila converting.

Up next for Shujaa is the Rugby Africa 7s in Kampala which doubles up as the African qualification tournament for the Rugby World Cup 7s set for September 2022 in Cape Town, South Africa.
