The Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions (KATTI) held their National Ball Games Championships at the Thika Technical Training Institute between 31st July and  3rd August.

In the rugby championship category, a total of eight teams divided into two pools took part in the 10-Aside competition. The first pool comprised of Sangalo, Ol’lessos, Jeremiah Nyaga and KIST while pool B had Nairobi, Nyandarua, RIAT and RVTTI.

End of day one saw Sangalo, Nairobi, RVTTI and KIST qualify for the semi finals. In the playoffs on day two, Sangalo registered 17 points against Nairobi to book their slot in the final while RVTTI suffered a 7-12 loss in the hands of KIST.  The third and fourth playoff match saw RVTTI beat Nairobi 17-7.

Sangalo would end up being the champions after a KIST infringement saw Sangalo’s Brian Etyang split the posts with a successful penalty kick for his side to lift the trophy with a 3-0 victory at full time.
