The fourth leg of the Stanbic Bank National Sevens Circuit kicked off with a Bang as teams contested for their Cup quarterfinal slot.

Pool A:

Stanbic Mwamba topped the Pool after winning the three out of three day one matches beating KCB, Northern Suburbs and Mombasa RFC. The Bankers came in second with their two wins over Northern Suburbs and Mombasa who finished third and fourth respectively.

Pool B:

Menengai Oilers topped this pool after an outstanding day one performance. The Gibson Weru charges cruised to their 24-0 and 38-10 victories over the Egerton Wasps and Masinde Muliro University respectively. Their biggest challenge came in the form of Kabras Sugar RFC, trailing 14-19 with little under a minute left, Oilers skillfully made their way to their opponents try line landing their third try with the successful conversion securing their 21-19 win.

Pool C:

Now this was one for the books, after the three rounds of matches were done, Strathmore Leos was the only side sure of their Cup quarterfinal slot. This left Resolution Impala Saracens, Nondescript RFC and Western Bulls scrambling for the second slot but it was down their point difference. All three sides lost two matches and won one. Impala Saracens’ superior PD compared to Nondies and Bulls confirmed their participation in the cup quarterfinals while the other two dropped to Bowl.

Pool D:

Hosts Top Fry Nakuru did not disappoint in their home tournament after three out three comfortable win. They sealed their first match with a 27-5 win over the Kenya Harlequins before securing a 19-12 win over Kenyatta University’s Blakblad RFC. Their last pool match against Menengai Cream Homeboyz and a sponsor derby had fans at the edges of their seats as both sides matches up in both defense and attack. However, Nakuru proved to be the more clinical side securing a close 14-12 win to top their pool as Homeboyz finished second.

Quins 17-12 win over Blakblad saw them finish third in this Pool.
