Last year, he officiated in the New York Sevens Tournament which is arguably the second-largest USA sevens tournament.
Vincent attributes his success to the following rugby legends: Dr. Simon Munai, Jack Okoth, Dr Muigai and Ronald Bukusi. These are the individuals who pushed him a lot in his rugby career. In the United States of America, he attributes his continued success to Simon Smith, Gray Odwyer, Margy Desspris and Elvis Musonye who have been immensely helpful in ensuring that he is allocated matches to officiate.
“I strongly believe that Kenya has great referees, the likes of Victor Odour, Linus Kinuthia, Joseph Mumo, Duncan Kioko among others. With this given opportunity I will represent the Country well,” said Chweya.
“World Rugby and Rugby Africa should consider giving Kenyan referees a chance to serve as center referees in the HSBC Sevens circuit. We have great talent and it would be great to have one of us officiating in the global scene,” concluded Chweya.
