Ngong Road based Yamanashi Impala Ladies are leading the Women’s Festival standings having won the first leg held on Sunday 28th February at the Nakuru Athletic Club. They have a total of 22 points while second placed Top Fy Nakuru have 19 points to their name.

Top Fry Nakuru RFC’s Grace Adhiambo and Yamanashi Impala’s Prisca Nyerere were the outstanding players in the first leg of the KRU Women’s Festival

Grace was the tournament’s top try-scorer as she landed a total of 9 tries on the day while Prisca was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. She was very instrumental for her side, the Yamanashi Impala Ladies who bagged the trophy after seeing off hosts, Top Fry Nakuru RFC 17-5 in the final.

The Mwamba ladies finished third overall beating Ruckit Queens 17-7 while the Kisumu Dolphins were fifth.

The second leg of the Festival will be held this Sunday at the Impala Grounds from 10:00am.
