#Shujaa followed up their impressive start in the qualifiers with a staggering 50-0 win over Senegal in their first Pool B match at the Bosman Stadium. Earlier, Shujaa had beaten Ivory Coast 24-0 to advance to this second round where the top eight teams were divided into two Pools.
Johnstone Olindi and Vincent Onyala landed a brace each in the first half, Olindi’s tries sandwiching Onyala’s before Vice Captain Jeffrey Oluoch added the fifth try for a comfortable 33-0 Shujaa lead at the breather. Come second half, Jacob Ojee picked up from where his co-vice Captain Oluoch left off as he dashed for the try line extending Shujaa’s lead to 38-0.
Onyala who was having a field day on the pitch and seemed to have no problem in going over the whitewash landed his side’s seventh try that was complimented by a clean conversion, Shujaa leading 45-0. Billy Odhiambo dotted down the eighth and final try securing Shujaa’s 50-0 win over Senegal.
Shujaa will wrap up their day one matches at 5:31pm against Namibia.
