Innocent Simiyu is keen to see his Shujaa charges make a strong start at next weekend’s fifth round of the 2017/18 HSBC Sevens World Series, the USA Sevens in Las Vegas.
Speaking to Kenya Rugby, Simiyu said, ” We have a tough pool in Las Vegas and will be keen to start well in the opening game against France. Our key focus remains meeting our performance standards consistently and I believe that if we are able to do that, we will achieve the results that we want.”
With the experienced duo of Collins Injera and Billy Odhiambo making his 13 man squad to North America, Simiyu said, ” Collins brings a wealth of experience in the team and an added advantage in terms of motivation. We also have Billy Odhiambo who is a powerful runner and we managed to upskill him during the pre-season. We’re quite interested to see how he will play…this being his first outing this season.”
Shujaa are in Pool A at the USA Sevens with Fiji, France and Russia.
