Shujaa Head Coach Innocent Simiyu is optimistic of a positive showing at the fourth round of the HSBC Sevens World Series on 3rd and 4th February at the Hamilton Sevens in New Zealand.

Speaking to Kenya Rugby from Hamilton, Simiyu said, “We have a tough pool but believe we have done our homework well and trust the players will play with pride and impress us all. Our key focus is to meet our performance targets especially in attack. Hopefully we will get the results we all want.”

Recounting the side’s showing at the third round in Sydney where they reached the cup quarterfinal, He said, “The team played well and believe they still have a lot to play for in Hamilton.”

Simiyu also extended his thanks to the team’s fans saying,  “We wish to thank all our supporters here and back at home for believing in the team.”

Shujaa, who currently sit ninth on the SWS log with 23 points are in Pool D for the Hamilton Sevens with the USA, Samoa and Canada. They will start their campaign on Saturday 3 February  with a match against Samoa at 1.00am before facing Canada at 4.26am and the USA at 8.22am East African Time.
