Shujaa dropped to the Sydney7s Challenge trophy on Saturday morning after losing their second match 41-0 to the USA.

The Eagles landed four quick tries in the first half all coming from the kick off and restarts. Danny Barrett’s and Ben Pinkleman’s tries were straight from the restart. A sneaky forward kick by Folau Niua set up Martin Iosefu to land USA’s third try. Off a USA scrum in Shujaa’s half, Madison Hughes extended his side’s lead to 22-0 at the breather.

Second half Carlin Isles, Maceo Brown and Kevon Williams added a try each to their name. A penalty against USA saw Daniel Taabu fend off one defender and fight his way into the try box after a tackle by his second defender; Although having grounded the ball, the TMO reviewed and judged him to not have released the ball thus denying Shujaa their solitary try.

Shujaa will face France at 11:17am in the last pool match.
